Project Description:

This was the first large scale project in the country whose aim was to develop Amharic based human resource system which automats the personnel records,  placement, classification, inspection and the Administrative Tribunal of the Federal Civil Service Commission. At the time of the contract the number of civil servants looked after by the system was about 350,000.

OmniTech shined on this project and proved that hi-tech projects can be undertaken by local compnies and demonstrated the coming-of-age of the country's skilled manpower resource ready to build the nation.

The system demonstrated for the first time ever how an IT system assists operations in resource management other than finances.

OmniTech still supports the system and has installed a third version of the software developed using Visual Basic 6. An MS SQL 2000 data base runs on a dedicated server configured for efficient service and maintenance.

Today, upwards of 40,000 civil servants data are managed by the commision on this system.
